A very nice example of order early native basketry with great attention to detail.
This Mi'kmaq basket was hand made and has finely carved ash with a rim made from sweet grass. The basket retains some of it's original red coloring and is in good vintage condition.
There is some staining on both the inside and outside of the bottom.
The basket measures 9 inches in diameter and is about 9 inches tall including the handle.
A great piece to display on a shelf or cabinet. A great addition to any collection of Mi'kmaq or native art or artifacts.
