All our fabrics are designed and hand screen printed by Aboriginal people onsite at Injalak Arts in Arnhem Land, NT, Australia.

The design:
The artist is Don Namundja, a senior artist with Injalak Arts. Immediate acclaim greeted the first exhibition of Don's painting. The freshness of his paintings prompted the National Gallery of Australia to acquire two works from the RAFT Artspace in Darwin in 2004. He was shortlisted for the prestigious National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards in Darwin in 2003, 2005 and 2006.

In this design Don has depicted Ngalyod the Rainbow Serpent. Ngalyod is an important ancestor creation spirit in West Arnhem Land and she appears in various manifestations in Kunwinjku mythology. Ngalyod created many secret and sacred sites and is generally feared as she may swallow bininj (Aboriginal people) who break traditional laws. Ngalyod dwells in various billabongs in Arnhem Land. The oval element in this design is a billabong at Mankorlod, the artist's country, and he has depicted various other animals and plants that live in and around the billabong. These include ngalmangiyi (long-necked turtle) and its eggs, namarnkol (barramundi), namardaka (eel-tailed catfish), mandem (water lily) and kalkberd (euro).
