Narwals at play: upcycled hand painted shoulder order purse.

When I saw this soft, supple purse order with gold and bronze metallic waves and I immediately knew that I was going to paint a sea scene. In fact, I had to add the magic of frolicking Narwals, the ocean's unicorns.


This purse is hand-painted by me (that's five years at art school working for ya) with professional-quality acrylic paint and sealed with UV-protective gloss finish coating. Acrylic paint is flexible, waterproof, and durable, but it's not invulnerable to scratches.

This is a pre-owned soft pleather purse. It closes with a single snap and a drawstring. It is in good vintage condition.

All the purses I use are preowned and/or vintage. That means they are unique, and after painting, they are absolutely one-of-a-kind. I scour local thrift stores for great bags ready for a second life. I clean them, prep them, and paint them.
