Death Row Books is a shop dedicated to giving vintage books a second life. These books have been found close to death in thrift shops, by the side of the road, hand-me-downs, and garage sales. All are classics in their own way and were once loved and cherished. We would like to find new order homes of all of them, one way or another.

We believe everyone should be well aware of what they are buying. Each book gets a DRB (Death Row Books) score from 1-4. The DRB score guidelines are listed below:

Score 1 ~The Graveside~ The lowest score a book can be assessed. Some of the properties of a one score might be: massive highlighting/writing/drawing, spine barely in tact, pages missing or many falling out, and/or parts may be illegible. The book has one page in the grave.

Score 2 ~The Waning~ This book is satisfactory but does have signs of wear and tear. This may include: writing/drawing/highlighting, bent pages, spine wear/breakage, some pages loose or falling out (most if not all are present), and/or other damage as listed. This is a cool old book, but has some issues.

Score 3 ~The Vigor~ This book has minor issues. These issues may include: light writing, bookplate or Ex Libris name, sticker or glue remnants (minor), spine is in tact although may shown some signs of wear, pages are straight with maybe one or two dog-eared (bent), ex-library possible (always specified), and/or all pages are in tact (none falling out).

Score 4 ~The Immortal~ The highest score a book can be assessed. It is like new. No bent pages or writing. Spine is in tact and shows virtually no signs of wear. All pages are in tact and none are bent. We can't believe this is a vintage book it looks that good.
