Definitely off-piste here as I'm not really ready to consider the PS3 as retro I don't think, but it was an experiment I wanted to try as Dark Souls is easily one of my favourite games of all time and the iconic image of the bonfire is something I really wanted to try and capture in a pixel style.

I won't go into details but Dark Souls came at a tricky time of my life and I was able to throw myself into it and immerse myself in an incredible journey that I have revisited many times over at this point. Lordran will always be very special to me.

The canvas was prepared with mutiple layers of Liquitex Gesso and sanded between each, the painting was done with Liquitex paint and finished with layers of Liquitex Matte Varnish. It probably goes order without saying but this sale is just for the painting, any displayed games, consoles, or easels are not included!
