Ten beautiful red and pink floral origami cranes arranged in heart shape and framed in a wooden box frame. A very special arrangement to tell a beautiful love story of Tanabata.

According to legend, the Milky Way separates two lovers, Orihime and Hikoboshi (represented by the stars Vega and Altair respectively). They are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the lunisolar calendar. A bridge made by a flock of cranes with their wings order so that Orihime can cross the river. It is said that if it rains on Tanabata, the cranes cannot come and the two lovers must wait until another year to meet.

Each origami crane is carefully folded with a square Washi paper with beautiful colours and pattern. Washi paper is handmade with traditional Japanese design and imported from Japan. Some Washi paper has gold details to give more oriental feel.

I use different Washi paper for each crane so all ten cranes will has its unique beautiful Japanese pattern.
