Midcentury Mallard order Duck TV Lamp

This stunning lamp was made in the 1950's when they still believed that watching TV in a dark room would strain the eyes of the viewers. To combat this perceived threat, companies started making these kitschy decorative lamps which would serve as a simple piece of decor in the day time and could be switched on at night when watching television.

This order lamp was made to resemble a mallard duck and is in excellent condition except for a crack in the brown base as pictured
