This is a great old brooch that has a little edge of oddity. The true name for these natural shells may reveal an adult content message, so I guess that's why folks are calling them blister shell instead. But if you have your big girl panties on and aren't offended by a little word like "nipple" then you won't mind wearing it. After all, you know, that's what people are thinking anyway. A better idea may be to give as a gift for a new-mother friend that might be breast feeding...well, okay, I just put it out there.

Anyway, this great brooch is dainty and measures 1-1/4" long, 3/4" wide, and has a 3/8" dome. It is set in a simple decorated sterling silver frame and has loads of patina. It would shine up nice if you really wanted it bright, but it looks nice as it is, too. It is stamped "STERLING" on the back. The clasp dates this piece to early century.
