This colorful necklace features a large striking cast brass pendant and a combination of vintage.
order This colorful necklace features a large striking cast brass pendant and a combination of vintage and new glass beads from the African trade. The blue, white, and yellow vintage feather glass beads are 25mm, beautifully made, with the 'feather' pattern adding a lot of movement to the design. (They are actually made of a combination of glass and ceramic elements). The blue and yellow colors of the feather glass beads are echoed in the contemporary glass discs and barrel beads, made in Ghana of recycled glass. At the end of the strand, two soft blue glass beads are very old trade beads.
Other beads include four beautifully crafted brass bicones, about 14mm, with a warm mellow patina. The spacers are solid brass Aja beads, made in Nigeria.
The large cast brass pendant has a warm, mellow patina. The design is abstract and stylized, with a triangular snake head, a square (with squares), and a circle (with circles). It is 3.5" (85mm) long and 1.5" wide.
The beaded length of the necklace is 16" and thew cord is currently knotted at 24." You may select a different length from the Variations menu at checkout. Keep in mind that larger bead necklaces tend to hang shorter. I will add a clasp for shorter lengths.
