1962. Paperback. First edition.
Illustrated by Mort Drucker; text by Jackie Kannon; cover by Beverley Clarke Roman. Staple-bound with stiff card covers; 24 pages; b&w illustrations throughout; 10 x 12.5 inches.
This book spent 14 weeks on the New York Times Non-Fiction Best Sellers list in 1962 and started a slew of Kennedy comedy books. Conceived by publisher Alexander A. Roman, with drawings by Mad order Magazine's master caricaturist Mort Drucker and text by his Mad cohort Paul Laikin and Ratfink Room comedian Jackie Kannon, the book used the form of a coloring book supposedly crafted by four year old Caroline Kennedy to poke fun at the whole Kennedy clan, their friends and their fellow players on the political scene, including every one from Frank Sinatra to Jimmy Hoffa. Of course, by the end of 1963, all copies had been removed from bookstore shelves.
