A classic Art Deco style silver plated basket, with swing handle. The rectangular shape is quite shallow, with large ball feet, bold shaping and wide sloping sides.
This was made by Joseph Elliot and Co in Sheffield, before 1927, when they became a limited company. Based on the style, we believe this is from the 1920s, but it could be older.
Although it's not marked as silver plate, we're confident it is. There is the pattern number 4559.
It's in excellent condition for its age with just some small dents in the base. The hinges on the handle are perfectly smooth. It's very shiny still and looks lovely.
