This beauty is an Alvin Sterling pattern form 1940. A Chateau is a castle so this pattern could also be known as order castle rose. Alvin is probably my favorite sterling flatware maker. The intricate detail and unique styles make Alvin's patterns unique in Flatware. Chateau rose has 5 roses on it, a little bit of rococo style frill, and a raised center. The inside of the ring has a B stamp, and says Alvin Sterling pat. 1940. It also has the patterns name Chateau Rose Written in spiffy Cursive on the inside so you can laugh about all that time you spent in 3rd grade learning to write and read all those silly scribbles your parents used only for Christmas cards.
This ring is made from a demitasse size spoon and weighs 5.2 grams. It is .73 in. at it's widest point on the front and .21 in on the back.
