The stick she carries connects her to the planet and all things natural. It supports her and keeps her upright, rooted. The cardinal, a visitor from the heavens, pushes her to speak and to keep on with her journey.

The layers of her skirts and aprons represent the many layers we wear to cover up our bodies, secret thoughts, secret pockets, sources of our strength and our fears. It's protection. It's also a heaviness we carry.

Her bag overflows with hope. As she walks, it falls in her path and surrounds all she touches.
