The brooch is a 14 KT Overlay with Carnelian, Chrysoprase, Tiger Eye gemstones with a filigree design and Genuine Scarabs. The gold filled screw back earrings are 14 KT Overlay with Carnelian, Chrysoprase, Tiger Eye gemstones with a filigree design and Genuine Scarabs and designed in an Egyptian Revival era. The earrings have a curved swirl stem and designed as a floral bouquet with the semi precious genuine scarab stones appearing as flower buds. The brooch has a total of 6 semi precious gemstones and a swirled twisted gold filled filigree designed like twisted ribbons in between each genuine scarab gemstone. The brooch and the earrings are set in a gold filled prong setting and the backside of the brooch has a clasp pin bar on it. The earrings have the AMCO 14KT overlay markings on the round screw back of the earrings. On the boxed fabric is wrapped bank in white & gold tone ink that reads "14 KT Gold Overlay Genuine Scarab".

The brooch measures 1-5/8" in diameter The screw back earrings measures 1" in height by 5/8" in width at the widest section. This set is still in its original gold tone textured jewlery case with a metal frame and fabric inserts. The back inside of this case has the Amco Jewels mark in gold tone in-cursive ink.

A. Michallett & Company formed in 1919 in Providence Rhode Island and was considered a high end jewlery maker. AMCO started its first use in April 1935 and incorporated in March 17th,1948. In 1971 Amco registered its "GOLD-BOND" trademark. The company used gold filled and sterling silver with high quality rhinestones and simulated gemstones in their high end jewelry pieces. They also used carved shell cameos and cultured pearls in their necklaces, bracelets, earrings, cameo brooches, pendants and rings that have definitely withstood the test of time! Their jewelry markings included “AMCO Sterling”, “1/20 12K Gold Filled AMCO”, “20 10K G.F. AMCO”, and “AMCO 14K GF” on their jewelry pieces they made.
