Zion National Park is so beautiful with its contrasts of red rock and green vegetation. These are the white cliffs along the east entrance to the park. I was attracted to the striations of the rocks, many many layers, along with the contrast of the blue order sky. Everywhere I looked, there was something wonderful to paint.

Painted on Arches paper, a 100% cotton French-made watercolor paper, the 140 pound cold press has a slight tooth which adds texture to the painting. The actual painting is completed with pen and ink details for a more finished look. A border on the painting of approximately one inch allows extra room for matting.
