Modern Green Man, order Signed Limited Edition Fine Art Print

order This is a signed, limited edition, archival print of an original gouache and ink resist painting titled "100% Wood", by Thomas Webb © 1994

The painting had several concepts behind it. As a portrait of the artist (me), at the time, I always felt I had a fertile mind with great thoughts and imagination, which I symbolized by the growth of leaves on the green man's head, but I stumble with orally expressing those ideas being self conscious when speaking, symbolized by the sticks for teeth.

The other more instant read is one in which a green/plant man lives on a world made of flesh. When he works in his yard he gets flesh on his hands, in the painting he is washing the flesh off his hands. The words behind him say "Wash up after playing in the flesh" which was a phrase I heard on a news program while I was sketching the original portrait. I immediately incorporated it litteraly into a humorous backstory for the painting.

The edition is limited to 25 prints

It is printed on Epson's Radiant White Watercolor Paper
Comes carefully rolled in mailing tube with a certificate of authenticity.
