~The centerpiece of this necklace is a really finely detailed repousse scene in pewter of a walking blue Heron with a frog in its beak. As you can see,the Heron is surrounded by stalks of flowers and cattails. The details in this scene are truly amazing and also the depth that is achieved by the repousse details which are not all the same thickness making some recede to the background while others appear closer to us, and the Heron is the most prominent and closest of all. What a truly exciting vintage-style design almost brought to real life! The Blue Heron scene in the setting is 27mm in diameter, or almost 1 1/8" in diameter. I made this a reversible necklace by setting a Czech produced 20mm or 3/4" in diameter hematite-look faceted glass gem in the 4-prong setting on the reverse side. The setting is a U.S. made and silver plated brass with a beaded-look edging all around. The chain is a new surgical stainless steel textured cable link chain measuring 20". I added an extender to one end of the chain so that you can wear the chain at 20, 21 1/2 or 23". Please look at all of the photos. The clasp is also surgical stainless steel also as are the large rings used in the chain extender. A necklace to enjoy seeing order and to cherish and enjoy wearing always! The pewter used in making the blue Heron piece is lead-free.
