1903 The Vicar of Wakefield by OLIVER GOLDSMITH, order Color Illustrations

This is a charming, antique copy of "The Vicar of Wakefield" by Oliver Goldsmith. 1903; Adam & Charles Black; London. The book is nicely illustrated with 13 color plates by John Massey Wright (over each plate is a piece of descriptive tissue paper). Gilt top page edges. Also included in this copy is an essay by John Forster about the story.

Condition:
Clean covers and spine; sharp corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. The pages are in great condition - lightly age-toned but clean with only a 1" tear at the outer edge of the front end paper, and a 1/2" tear at the outer edge of page 29. There is a Christmas stamp and inscription written in pen order dated 1913 on the front end paper...no other writing found. Bright gilt top page edges. Overall the book is in very good condition.
