We've got a original 1999 1st Edition starter box still factory sealed 22 years later. It has 1 Holo Machamp card(Mint never touched by human hands) + 60 1st edition cards,10 damage counter gems,1 rule book & 1 starter game guide all kept preserved by never being opened. The box itself has some wear from being moved around with me over the years(rough corners,crease on sides,see photos) but the factory seal order is intact. It's a nice piece for any pokemon collector,whether you intend to open the box to have the cards graded or leave it sealed for another 20 years on a display case.
