Castleton Porcelain China Apollo Appetizer, Wedding Cake, Bread and Butter Plates - order Set of 12 - Vintage - Mid Century

I'm pleased to offer this set of 12 appetizer, wedding cake or bread and butter plates. This Mid Century set was made by Castleton China in their Apollo pattern. Each cream porcelain plate has a order wide and a thin 24K gold painted ring around the outer edge of the well, and a 24K gold rim. This classic pattern is as popular today as it was in the 1950's.

History of Castleton China:
The Shenango China Company, producer of Castleton China dinnerware, was a chinaware manufacturing company between 1902 and 1961. The business had some financial problems, causing it to change names a few times during this time period. The company was bought by Anchor Hocking in 1979. Pieces of dinnerware marked with "Castleton China" were produced during from 1948 to 1968. This type of china was known for its modern designs and unique decoration. This dinnerware was very popular during its production phase and remains a classic find for collectors today.

Measurements: 6 1/4" in diameter.

Condition: Excellent Condition, with no chips, stains, cracks, or wear. Full Disclosure Notes: 7 plates are like new, 3 plates have one tiny thin light scratch in each well that is hard to even see, one plate has some dark scraping on the wide inner gold (please see photo), and one plate has a very tiny red spot on the outer rim gold. After the two gold marks mentioned above, the rest of the gold trim is 99.9%. The feet are very clean.
