About the shells;
Puka shells are the tops of cone shells worn down by the ocean over time hundreds of years in fact. Puka in the hawaiian language means hole or pierced. Natives hawaiians believed that to give a puka shell lei as a gift would give the recipient much good will, and luck especially to sailors it was thought to bring them home safely. Cone shells come in many varieties and variations many of which are endemic to the Hawaiian islands. Worldwide cone shells are thought as a symbol of birth, rebirth, personal protection and good fortune. The "kapuna" Hawaiian mystic were one of the first cultures to recognized that the shells contain "mana" energy and incorporated the shells as part of their system of healing.
Since the shells harness the energy of the ocean and promote a healing of the gentle calmness and memories of the ocean we may be able to heal, deflect negative energy and emotions.
There are less cone shells, puka shells and many other varieties of shells each day, do to our oceans water level rising and pollution. Please respect our oceans our greatest natural resource, Mahalo. order
