This cute celluloid flapper doll was made in Japan in the 1930s. I love this doll - hand painted silver hair is order so stylish, her cheeks are nice and rosy, she has perfect eyebrows and her eyes are bright and exactly what one looks for in a classic Kewpie doll!
I was not able to find another one of this size (about 9-10") with silver hair and appears that it is pretty rare - especially in this condition. All the other Kewpies I found had gold or brown hair.
She is in excellent condition - the only holes that I found are the two at her shoulders for the string to go through, otherwise, she might be every Kewpie doll collector's dream! Her "tired" arms and the lack of clothing are the only challenges that this Kewpie has. The string and her arms are original.
