Mud Cloth (or Bogola ) is a traditional hand made Malian fabric, from Africa, dyed with fermented earth in a layered and time order consuming process. Each piece is hand woven (cotton) & hand painted, totally unique. It has an important place in the Malian culture.
This cloth purse can be folded and packed for vacation or use it for everyday. Snaps shut and has roomy a pocket inside for the small stuff. Use the adjustable strap and you are hands free shopping for all those wonderful treasures you find in your travels.

I have machined washed and dried the mud cloth before construction. I have even made a purse from the mud cloth and then washed is on cold and hung it to dry and it did wonderfully. I also have double stitched the zigzag stitch that binds the strips of the cloth to make it whole. While washing the dark(especially black) use a color catcher in the laundry. I use them for all my washing and love them. They really work. You can find them in the detergent aisle.
