Sculpture Penguin with son in raku ceramic
Raku is a technique of Japanese origin that uses all the elements of nature: earth, air, fire and water.
The object is modeled by hand with a semi-refractory white clay that resists temperature changes at 980 °. After the first firing it is decorated with enamels and crystalline and cooked a second time in a gas oven up to about 1000 °, arrived at this temperature it is extracted from the incandescent oven and placed in metal containers containing straw or leaves and then in the water to cool it quickly.
NOTE. Each piece is handmade from scratch and differs slightly from the one in the photo in shape and color ensuring the originality of the order product.
