Vintage sterling silver brooch by Mexican silversmith Ysidro García Piña, better known as MARICELA. A design of three leaves with spiral stems and dew drops - very well made, even has bracing on the backs of the leaves for added stability. Produced in Taxco, primarily known for its fine silver handwork.
The piece has a sturdy roll over catch.
This stunning brooch is in excellent vintage condition, it has been professionally cleaned and polished. order Marked with artist's logo MARICELA 925 TASCO - HECHO EN MEXICO, and STERLING. It is stamped with the Taxco's hallmark of the eagle and a figure 3.

Ysidro García Piña is better known to collectors of Mexican silver jewellery, by his shop name MARICELA.
The workshop, founded in 1943, was named for his daughter and Mr Garcia signed his work as this. His jewellery has a recurring theme of variations on the spiral.
The shop was in operation until 1986.
