Mala
A mala is originally a Hindu and Buddhist tool of prayer and meditation. It is used to count mantras during meditation. A mantra is a collection of words, often from Sanskrit, that is repeated several times - traditionally 108 times. While repeating, you have to focus on the meaning and vibration of the words, possibly combined with the visualization that accompanies it. By practicing a meditation practice like this, thoughts rest and the body relaxes. Nowadays, a mala is also worn as a fashion accessory.
