Vintage Asian (Chinese? order - Japanese?) "God of Longevity" Wood Carved Statue

This wood carving of the Oriental "God of Longevity" is 10" tall. The base is about 3" square. I do not know if it is of Japanese or Chinese origin or the type of wood used. I am listing two "God of Longevity" wood carved statues. This one is the shorter and much heavier of the two order. It is in very good condition with a lovely old patina.
