Vintage order Tortoise brooch in silver and enamel with rhinestones. Same design as Pierre Bex & Catherine Popesco Tortoises.

A delightful little brooch with deep denim blue guilloche enamel, set with sparkling rhinestones. This design was inspired by an Art Deco design which the Catherine Popesco and Pierre Bex companies have been reviving. This brooch is from Past Times, and is a high quality piece of costume jewellery.

The brooch features lovely intricate modelling of the tortoise's features in the silver-plated head and legs, with a floral motif on its back order set with rhinestones. The enamel is a dark blue with the metal below engraved to give the tortoise shell pattern.

Lots of character and detail in this charming brooch.

Measures: 40 mm (1 5/8") from nose to tail and 27 mm (1") wide.

In excellent condition with a straight, sharp pin and a secure rollover clasp. It is unsigned and comes in the original Past Times gift box with an information card.
