Here is an interesting group of 24 vintage odd-ball soft metal toy soldiers.

These quirky little guys apparently were crudely home-cast (there are no makers marks) and then even more crudely painted with what looks like the left-over tie-dye vat from a Grateful Dead get-together.

And, all of this looks like it happened a long time ago, most likely in the early 20th century, post WWI.

If you like variety, here you have it. There are doughboys on the march and at parade rest, mounted cavalry, a drum corp, mounted Crusaders, and a triplet set of Bedouins with shoulder slung rifles!

What a group!!!

They are all quite malleable and have lovely signs of use, abuse, and distress, ie, patina.

All are about 2 1/2" tall and all stand freely on flat bases.
