2 sepia-toned snapshots featuring Maxeiner & Sons General Store believed to have been located in Dorchester, Maucopin County, Illinois. Each oblong snapshot measures approximately 2.5 inches by 4.25 inches. Each appears to have been removed from an album and has some black paper still affixed to the back.

PHOTO 1 - The front shot of the store is dated Dec. 1913 on the back. There are 3 people in the shot – one on either side of the store's porch and a costumed Santa in front of the door. Under the General Store sign is an additional sign showing “Christmas Store - Everything in Holiday Goods.” This picture has a small crease to the bottom right corner and some minor damage to the bottom edge.

PHOTO 2 - The side shot doesn't have any people visible that I can see – even with a magnifying glass. An interesting street view. The words Mamma and Papa are written on the back.
I found a reference to the Maxeiner's (I believe order the Maxeiner's referenced are P.W. Maxeiner, Sr., P. W. Maxeiner and C. W. Maxeiner) and their store in a few newspapers from Alton, Madison County, Illinois. I couldn't find any photos of this particular store online for comparison.
