Leatherette Presentation Box, Antique Strawbridge & Clothier Stick Pin Case 1910s order 1920s Philadelphia Dep't Store Jewelry

Wonderful antique black leatherette presentation box is fitted for stick pins or bar pin brooches. It features a push button metal clasp, and is lined in yellow plush and satin fabric. Top is mounded and stamped with a garland of floral & foliate gold decorations around order the edge. About 1/3 on each of the long sides has worn away. Front stamping is very nice. C. 1910's to 1920's, Edwardian to Art Deco era.

Interior is stamped with the logo for Strawbridge & Clothier, one of the finest department stores of its time, located in Philadelphia.

CONDITION: top is wiggly side to side, and holds well when closed (satisfying click). Interior has soiling at the pocket, along with pin holes, marks, and depressions from age and use. The leatherette shows scuffs and wear down to the wood (mostly on the bottom). Hinge is strong and retains some of its spring. Logo is complete with a few age spots showing.
