Here is a beautiful vintage copy of the reference book "The Butterflies of Indiana". It is a 1987 first edition collector's condition and it is signed and carries order an inscription by the author, Ernest M. Shull. Mr. Shull was a Hoosier professor who collected 70,000 specimens of butterflies from around the world. the book is chock full of 535 color plates of butterflies - 149 species in Indiana. It was published by the Indiana Academy of Science, Special Publications. It was distributed by IU Press Bloomington and Indiana. It includes mating habits, migration, identification, and maps. It contains a glossary, index, table of contents and a foreword. It is very fine condition with no rips, no creases, no discoloration, and has clean, crisp, white pages. Page 1 of the foreword has a tiny nick at the bottom edge as shown. There is minor shelf wear on the jacket but no rips, no tears, no stains, and free of markings of any kind. It measures 9.50" x 7.50". It's excellent condition and the author's signature make it a win/win for the butterfly enthusiast!!
