Jambo Books offers high quality fiction books that star children of color. This bundle includes 5 books in one of our exclusive JambArt boxes. The fun starts when the brightly illustrated box arrives at your door! The kids in your life will love these colorful, fun books. You will receive a bundle worth $95 for only $60! Read more about the books below:

Sunday Rain by Rosie J. Pova, illustrated by Amariah Rauscher (also the artist who created the unicorn JambArt box!): Elliott has just moved into a new house. He spends his days with his fictional friends, immersed in a book. When an inviting Sunday rain gathers the local kids to play in the puddles, Elliott longs to join in, but he's too shy to go outside. Soon, Elliott discovers that new friendships are like a new book—you just have to plunge into the adventure.

Saturday by Oge Mora: In this heartfelt and universal story, a mother and daughter look forward to their special Saturday routine together every single week. But this Saturday, one thing after another goes wrong--ruining storytime, salon time, picnic time, and the puppet show they'd been looking forward to going to all week. Mom is nearing a meltdown...until her loving daughter reminds her that being together is the most important thing of all.

Stop That Yawn! by Caron Levis, illustrated by LeUyen Pham: There's a yawn on the loose! Can Gabby stop that yawn from spreading the snooze, or will it be lights out for Never Sleeping City?

A Tiger Called Tomas by Charlotte Zolotow, illustrated by Marta order Alvarez Miguens: Shy Tomás is afraid to venture out into the neighborhood—until the night of Halloween. Because Tomás has the perfect tiger costume, complete with a mask that hides his identity. But Tomás will soon discover his costume doesn't hide him quite as well as he thinks…

No Frogs in School by A. LaFaye, illustrated by Eglantine Ceulemans: Hoppy pets, hairy pets, scaly pets: Bartholomew Botts loves them all. And he doesn't want to go to school without one. Unfortunately, when Bartholomew brings his brand-new frog to class, his teacher, Mr. Patanoose, declares: "No frogs in school!" How will Bartholomew keep his animal friends close at hand . . . and follow Mr. Patanoose's rules, too?

Jambo means “Hello” in Swahili. Hello is an invitation to start a connection, to learn something new, to expand our notion of what it is to be human. Similarly, we invite our readers to build their own empathy muscles by reading about people who aren't exactly like themselves. Together, we affirm the humanity of every person.

My husband and I started Jambo Books because we were searching for high-quality books starring children of color in situations where children's literature rarely places them - making friends, raising pets, loving grandparents and fighting dragons. We focus on finding books that give our children a vision of the world we want them to live in diverse, vibrant and kind.

We partner with independent artists, all of whom are of color and/or female, to create beautiful JambArt boxes. We send our books in these boxes that are decorated with art that also celebrates the joy of childhood while spotlighting children of color.
