Vintage Ruscha Keramik West Germany Mid-Century order MCM Ceramic Wall Plaque, Vintage ceramic wall plaque from the West German pottery company Ruscha famed for developing the vulcano glaze.
Vintage ceramic wall plaque from the West German pottery company Ruscha, famed for developing the vulcano glaze which was a pivotal step towards what order we all know and and love: fat lava! Ruscha was founded in 1948 by Rudolph Schardt, who used part of his first name and last name to form the company name, and it closed in 1996.
Based upon the way in which the plaque is hand-inscribed on the back, likely dates it to the 1950s.
This mid-century plaque features a buddy pulling his fruit cart next to a palm tree in very brilliant, glazed colors, against the matte black background. There is some normal wear and tear for a painted ceramic vintage piece as such, noted in the photos.
The plaque measures about 9 inches high at its longest part and 7 inches wide at the fattest part.
As always friends, this is a pre-owned, vintage item. Please bear in mind that most vintage items are not 100% perfect — and that simply adds to their charm and their story.
