This bowl has a gorgeous, textured mercury glass effect finish. The way the finish was applied gives the outside a more matte finish, while the inside is a polished, mirrored treatment. The finish is intentionally distressed, which makes the bowl a great addition to a shabby chic decor.

This bowl measures approximately 3.75 inches high, 5.25 inches around and weighs 14.9 ounces. Similar to many of my other pieces, this bowl has small air bubbles, which is common with hand blown glass. The silver treatment highlights the connection break at the bottom where the bowl was attached to the rod (and subsequently broken off when finished). This is common and does not affect the integrity of the bowl. The price has been adjusted to reflect this imperfection, though.

Because the mercury finish is applied to the outside, it is probably food-safe. However, because the finish is delicate, I would not recommend using this bowl for food prep or serving. I would recommend that it is handled with care since the finish can chip with over handling.
