The Lotus Flower is considered a form of Mandala. Mandala is Sanskrit meaning "circle". In Buddhist and Hindu religious traditions, sacred art often takes mandala form. Mandalas have spiritual and ritual significance. In various spiritual traditions, mandalas are used for focusing the attention of seekers, as a spiritual teaching tool, for establishing a sacred space, and as an aid to meditation. The mandala's symbolic nature can help order one ultimately experience a mystical sense of oneness.
