First, let me say that I am a Bakelite collector, and likely would have purchased a feed-sack with those buttons. That being said; this is no feed-sack.
(Five 3/4” matching buttons valued at $30.)

Bakelite was popularized during the Depression due to it's likening to gemstone colors. Frugality was essential. This held true through the Second World War. Home sewing was also an essential money saving exercise.

This is a lovely rayon handmade with scrumptious detailing. Just look at the neckline!

At some point in her history someone shortened the bodice by hand, leaving the original waist intact. This stitching can easily be removed if you so choose. (Personally, I don't mind. Kind of love the history in those stitches!)

She also has shoulder-pads that can be removed easily if you don't care for the original broader shoulder look.

She has had a bath and is ready
to wear.

(Belt not included, and she did originally have one)
