Reclaimed cedar wood from Mediterranean Cedrus has been used dating back to the 1930s. This wood variety comes from an old home structure in Greece that had been catalogued for demolition due to an earthquake.
Cedar from Cedrus, was once an important timber in the Mediterranean area, used for building and shipbuilding, but severely overexploited for thousands of years. All remnant forests are protected.

We cut the wood to length and gave it a little sanding over with no attempt to cover the beauty of the natural wood it is made from. It is finished with natural hemp oil. It can hold very artfully a variety of different clothes, coats, scarfs, hats, jewelry. A beautiful element in any place in the house.
