Hand Turned order Buckeye Burl Duck Call

Hand turned double reed duck call. This call was made from a piece of buckeye burl wood that was double dye stabilized in blue and black. The dye saturation is this piece is really unique.

Wood stabilizing is the process of impregnating resin under vacuum into the cellular structures of the wood. The process is done to harden and strengthen the wood while also making it more impervious order to moisture. During the process dyes can be added to the resin at various times to create brilliant and vibrant color additions to the wood.
