Fabulous Vintage Shetland Silver Brooch

This brooch is an original design by Jack Rae of Shetland Jewellery and features Norse God Odin riding on his eight legged horse Sleipnir

The brooch is fully stamped and hallmarked on the reverse - 'Sleipner Odin's Horse' Shetland SS and has the Scottish Rose, Castle assay mark for Edinburgh and the date letter S for order 1972. There are also some scratched on letters and numbers

It is one of the largest example of the brooch measuring approx. 4cm across and weighing approx. 11.8 grams

Great vintage condition with only minimal surface wear consistent with age and normal use
