I sit cross legged on the floor, going through an amazing 1930's traveling salesman case, after going through each item in it and cleaning the bottles carefully, I leave the room and come back. There, perfectly in the center of the box was a shiny dime. I've learned to see these unexplained gifts as hellos, confirmation of life beyond us, a beautiful connection to the other side. (you can see the image of this in the photos above)

The coin has intentionally been left hazy. Similar to the experience of finding coins, I've heard many stories of people finding pennies, dimes, foreign coins.. and knowing it's from their loved one. This painting celebrates that.
