Antique 1876 The Encore by L.O. Emerson songbook published in Boston, MA. The book begins with a section on musical notation to teach the art of singing and reading music, it has instructional guides as well as numerous practice exercises. The rest of the book is entirely dedicated to songs including hymns, anthems, chants, and glees.

The book measures about 9.5" x 6.5". The cloth spine is coming unglued so the cover is loose and detaching, but this could probably be repaired order if necessary. All of the pages are still intact with yellowing due to age. This would still be a lovely gift for book collectors, a musician, singer, choir teacher, or to style on a bookshelf.
