Garuda & Vishnu Carved Wooden Sculpture H21cm, order Indonesian Balinese Temple Guard, Hindu, Buddhist, 1950's Asian Wood Carving

Vintage carved hardwood sculpture, featuring Vishnu riding Garuda. This sculptural group was hand carved from a sole piece of wood circa 1950's.
Garuda is the mythical humanoid bird, the King of Birds, messenger of the gods from Hindu and Buddhist mythology.
He is the vehicle (vahana) of Lord Vishnu.

The sculpture measures 8 1/2 inches tall, 4 4/5 inches wide and 2 2/5 inches deep / 21.5 cm x 12 cm x 6 cm (Height x Width x Depth)
Weight: 330 grams
Very good vintage condition. There is a tiny crack in the back of the base, see the last photo.
It is also a great present idea to anyone, who shares interest in old Balinese art and culture or just to someone who is open to the unknown and appreciates the spirituality and the mindfulness of the Orient.
