order Vintage book, Songs of a Silent Singer. Published privately by the authors husband and son after her detah, John F. Delany and Donald D. Delany. Written by Alberta Cornwall Delany. The poems were discovered after her death and the book was created as a memento to honor her.

"The efforts contained in this volume are not put forward in affrandizement of her memory, not as Keatsian or Byronic in genius but as exactly what they are the attempts at song of a soul that longed to sing.
They are dedicated, of course, to the sweetness of her memory by a family sorely afflicted by her loss."

The book is bound in red leather with gold embossed lettering on the cover. The pages are a rich yellow tone. There were 200 copies made of this edition "placed in the hands of personal friends of the author and her family" and this is number 54. Many of the poems are dated.

This book is such a treasure. A treasure finding the voice of a woman whose written voice was not heard during her lifetime. A treasure of memory sorted through and lovingly curated by a grieving son and husband.

Condition: Cover shows signs of age and wear. Corners are rough and leather is flaky around the edges and the spine. Two bending lines are evident on the cover. There is an inscription on the front plate from Donald Delany July 31, 1929. Pages are crisp and clean.
