order This sweet enamel compact has a money clip inside which is not something often seen. It looks like a trunk to me though I can't say this vintage compact is figural. It is unmarked and I believe it dates to the 1940s.
The outside is white enamel with a floral inset. I don't know what the floral inset is made of, but I'm guessing it's painted enamel. It's not guilloch though. You can see some enamel loss on the front and the back has some surface scratches and scuffs so you know this one was once used and enjoyed.
The hinges work fine. I think there is some gold tone loss on the hinges and on the sides too.
The top opens up to the powder compartment. The mirror inside has some minor clouding which happens to these vintage compacts. There is one tiny puff for rouge and there might have been another one for the top for powder. The powder well is empty and it opens fine.
On the back it opens up to reveal money clips. Both clips work well.
This beautiful compact measures 2.75 inches across and is about 2.5 inches down. Shipping and insurance are included in the prices for USA buyers.
