Shino ware (しのやき志野焼, Shino-yaki) is Japanese pottery, usually stoneware, originally from Mino Province, in present-day Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The techniques were learned during the Song Dynasty in China. These techniques then emerged in Japan during the 16th century which was further developed. Shino ware is identified by thick white glazes, red scorch marks, and a texture of small holes.

The light blue glaze, as seen in the photos, is a new design from traditional shino ware.

These beautiful cups are handmade with various types of ceramics and fired at 1350°C (2462°F). This results in each tea cup being a unique masterpiece - no duplicate shino tea cup exists in the world and they cannot be perfectly recreated. After the high temperature firing, 24 karat gold leafing is added to the cup and fired again at 850°C (1562°F).
