This listing is for a complete set of the 1947 Libbey hostess set known as Ivy Bower. It features an etched or frosted style of ivy vine leaves along each rim with gold vines & gold rims. The set includes 4, 12 ounce beverage glasses, 4, 6 ounce juice glasses, & 4, 6 ounce juice cups. This is the complete hostess set, originally marketed by Libbey to newlyweds looking to entertain in the 1940's! Only thing missing is the box! This comes from Libbey's marketing ad in the 40's:
“Ivy Bower is…Cool, classic, elegant. The gold vines and rims are 22-kt. burnished gold! The frost ivy leaves and berries are fired on-permanent! And the rims are guaranteed: You get a new glass if the ‘Safedge' ever chips.”
