Awesome vintage gift set!
Gorgeous vintage glass ashtray "used in the actual Horseshoe Hotel and Casino" in Fabulous Downtown Las Vegas. Also included is a book of Binion Horseshoe matches that are un-struck and in Very Good "not used" vintage condition. I would say Excellent, but there is some wear on the fold. You will also receive a pair of Binion's Horseshoe Club dice that do NOT have matching serial numbers, these dice are in Excellent "used vintage" condition. Very sharp edges and the metallic logo is Perfect! Also included are a deck of cards that were used in "actual Casino" Tablegames..and a $1.00 vintage Benny Binion Horseshoe chip that is in Excellent un-circulated condition.
Binion's Gambling Hall & Hotel originally opened in 1932 as Hotel Apache. After that it was The El Dorado Club, then Glitter Gulch.
It was in 1951 that it formally became Binion's Fremont Street, then Binion's Horseshoe, and then just Binion's, and now it goes by Binion's Gambling Hall and Hotel.
Binion's was the first hotel to replace the sawdust floors with carpet! They were also the first to offer comps to gamblers, and not just to those who bet big money.
In February 2019, Binion's Gambling order Hall and Hotel announced plans to Re-open 81 of the rooms as a new "Boutique Hotel" called "Hotel Apache". It will feature "vintage style" furnishings reminiscent of the original Hotel Apache that opened in 1932.
This clear crystal or glass ashtray is from 1950's or 60's. Measures about 3.25" inches in diameter. It reads in blue "Horseshoe Hotel and Casino Downtown Las Vegas".
It is In Excellent "used vintage" condition.
