Vintage Gorgeous A Grade Light Amethyst Gem Quality Beads, Vintage Chinese Violet Purple Turquoise Red Flower Cloisonne Bead 1970s, Vintage Mint Green Crystal Beads, Bali Style Ornate Gold Plated Beads, Gold Plated Toggle Clasp

Fine quality vintage amethyst beads with very few inclusions, are for all intents and purposes, crystal clear and make up the majority of this elegant asymmetrical gem quality bracelet.

◉ These are not the common, what is known in the trade as 'over dark' deep purple amethyst heavily included beads that many designers use . These amethyst beads are of a MUCH finer grade as you can see in the photos. The beads in this bracelet are of the quality that could be faceted into gems and are a lovely light/medium purple. They have an even high polish and are perfectly round.

These beads are from a lot purchased in the early 1980's for a design I did for the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History Museum shops and mail order catalogs.
They are 10mm in diameter ( a bit less than 1/2" as there are 25mm to the inch ).

◉ All the stone beads which I use were personally selected by me in Hong Kong order during the 1970s-1980s when the standards of cutting were meticulous. Nowadays, stone beads are being cut and imported from India where the labor is cheap, the beads are not always perfectly round, nor do they have an even polish and many times they are not even drilled all the way through .◉

Ornate vintage gold plated bead caps hug each bead and and gorgeous iridescent faceted vintage crystal beads in a mint green color pick up the colors in the cloisonne bead and add a bit of contrast to the purple amethyst.

The focal point of this bracelet is a 10mm vintage Chinese cloisonne bead from the 1970s in a rare violet color which beautifully compliments the amethyst beads. Flowers in blue, teal, red, white and green add subtle bits pops of color.

Cloisonne from this time period is quite sought after and collectible because of the fine workmanship that went into each bead. Nowadays, cloisonne being exported from China has blurry lines between the colors and very little attention to detail.


Ornate Bali style gold plated beads in both a 10mm and 6mm size add yet another texture to this elegant piece.
It has been finished on a gold plated toggle clasp and is approximately 8 " in length.
