Antique Victorian Photo Album with Celluloid Cover Including 25 Antique Sepia and Black and order White Photographs, As Found in Portland Estate

Found in an estate in Portland Oregon, this wonderful Victorian era photo album holds many memories, images and precious thoughts of others who came before us.

The cover of the album is celluloid in a rose design, with a smaller insert of a picture of a farmer, kneeled down and his arms held out to greet his young daughter, who is held by his wife. The side and back of the album are covered in maroon mohair fabric. The inside contains 14 pages of ornate photo holders and includes 25 antique black & white and sepia photos of people of all ages from the time. The album closes with an ornate brass closure.

The album measures 10 order 1/2" high x 9" wide x 2 1/4" deep and is in very good condition, considering it is over 120 years old. The colors in the celluloid cover are still vibrant. The binding is intact, and the brass closure closes tightly and securely. The item is "as found" because it does show some wear; a few of the photo pages have small tears; some of the photos are faded from age; and there is a small tear in the celluloid insert on the cover. Still, overall this beautiful photo album and photographs are in remarkable condition for their age.
